Wabash Valley Farms Popcorn - Real Theater - Original - 5-pack Review

Wabash Valley Farms Popcorn - Real Theater - Original - 5-pack
Average Reviews:

"Real Theater Popcorn" is the easiest way to get the best theater style popcorn at home (especially if you use a whirleypop popper)
But you should be aware that most resellers are selling this stuff for more than you would pay if you just buy direct from the source (and yes it is available online popcornpopper dot com)
$1.10 to $1.60 per pouch depending on the volume you buy is closer to what you should be paying, not $2 and up.

31112 Toaster Oven Review

31112 Toaster Oven
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have never had a toaster oven before so my review might affected by having nothing previous to compare to, but here goes:
I wanted a small, 2 slice toaster oven, because I am a 1 person family. There were only a couple choices on Amazon and the other choice seemed to be rated as too small by other buyers. So I chose this Proctor Silex(at that time)unrated model.
It takes up only a little more space on my counter than my old 2 slice toaster did. It is very mechanical in its operation. ("Tick..tick..tick..Ding!") I assume this oven is marketed more outside this country because none of the words around the dials are in English. I thought that amusing. There are little pictures of the functions and the temp settings in both F. and C. so no problems. We all read every word of our operating manuals, right?
This little oven will hold 2 generous slices of bread-I've done 3 slices of french bread at a time. No problem broiling open faced sandwiches with plenty of toppings. Only the fattest of sweet rolls or muffins may have to be split.
This oven has created the most evenly toasted bread I have had for ages. (My retired toaster was pretty old.) If it did nothing else it would be worth the bargain price I paid. I make mini pizzas on english muffins a lot and for this it works perfectly as well.
The upper and lower heating elements are encased in tubes, the lower one protected with perforated metal to reduce crumb burning, I assume.
Oh, and one thing that was never mentioned anywhere I tried to research this item before I bought it--it is 800 watts.
I am very happy with the little unit.

Adagio Teas Glass Teapot Review

Adagio Teas Glass Teapot
Average Reviews:

Adagio really got it right.
First of all, the photo doesn't quite do it justice, I think - this is a nice, simple, yet elegant teapot. Very pretty.
The infuser makes it a piece of cake to enjoy loose leaf teas (which are generally much better than most of the bagged stuff out there). The infuser comes out, and it easy to clean. Also, because the teapot is glass and the infuser is removable, this teapot is ideal for blooming teas.
The only part that is hard to clean is the spout. I think a little bottle brush or maybe some pipe cleaners ought to do the trick, though.
Maybe best of all, THIS TEAPOT DOES NOT DRIP!! The spout is designed in such a way that the tea pours and doesn't make a mess! It's wonderful!

Elegantly simple in design, the Adagio Teas clear glass teapot lets you easily view the color of your tea so that it doesn't get too strong. It comes with alarge metal infuser chamber, which gives your tea plenty of room to unfurl and fully infuse, placing more flavor in each cup, and a clear glass cover. Other features include a stay-cool handle and durable tempered borosilicate glass for years of use. It makes 5 cups (42 ounces/1.2 liters of tea). Not made for stove-top use. Dishwasher and microwave safe. Made in China.

Sanyo EM-S5002W Mid-Size Microwave Oven Review

Sanyo EM-S5002W Mid-Size Microwave Oven
Average Reviews:

This microwave has a "add minute" feature--pressing the Start button while cooking adds a minute to cooking time. Convenient, yes, but the Start button is so sensitive that if I press it just a teensy bit too long, it turns my :30 beverage warm-up into a messy boilover 1:30 later. Don't take your eyes off the display (when you start) to be sure you don't inadvertently add another minute of cooking time.

DeLonghi DO400 1400-Watt Digital Control 4-Slice Toaster Oven Review

DeLonghi DO400 1400-Watt Digital Control 4-Slice Toaster Oven
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I used to have a much larger toaster oven, but having subsequently bought my first microwave, when the big toaster oven died, I looked for a smaller toaster oven to free up some counter space. I've had this for about a month, and I think it's quite good for what it is, but for what it is, it's overpriced. If it were cheaper I'd rate it higher. It broils beautifully. The oven heats very quickly, which is great. By my measurements, it's about 50 degrees above the requested temperature in middle ranges, as has been noted by others. But small toaster ovens are always unreliable on precise temperature. That's why all those frozen foods that come in microwave containers say don't cook them in a toaster oven (which you can do just fine, by the way, if you know how far off the temperature is). I prefer toast a little lighter than it makes toast at T-1, but it's okay. I miss features like the hook pull-outs, which not only pull the shelf out when you open the door but keep the door from crashing up and down, and the pull-out, rather than drop-down, crumb drawer. It's a perfectly adequate small toaster oven, but it should be either a little better or a little cheaper.

An efficient alternative to turning on the oven, this 1400-watt countertop appliance provides user friendly digital controls that make it easy to bake, broil, toast, or keep food warm. Its 1/3-cubic-foot capacity will accommodate individual pizzas, casseroles, or up to four slices of bread, bagels, or English muffins at a time. In addition, the unit's toast-color selector with automatic shut-off allows for choosing from light to dark settings, and its adjustable temperature control makes it easy to cook with the right amount of heat. For precise and consistent results, press the quick-check button to view the current oven temperature anytime during the cooking process. Other highlights include a drop-down crumb tray for easy disposal of crumbs, a removable bake pan and broil rack, and an attractive design that will nicely complement any kitchen decor. Great for cooking up breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the toaster oven measures 11-1/4 by 16 by 8 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty against defects.

Outset Corn Holders - Set of 8 Review

These corn holders are amazing. They are large enough and with a terrific texture so that they're easy to grip. They can be inserted into the corn ears before boiling and come through the boiling process perfectly -- no damage, and they cool very quickly so they can be easily handled. They also go through the dishwasher without mishap. I'm very happy with them.

Samsung SMH8165B 1.6 cu. ft. 1000 Watt Over-the-Range Microwave - Black Review

Samsung SMH8165B 1.6 cu. ft. 1000 Watt Over-the-Range Microwave - Black
Average Reviews:

Purchased this last July, and all was fine until December when the microwave would not turn on. The clock started to count down when I pushed "start." Repaired under warranty in December, and the problem was a "loose wire" because when the service tech opened the front panel, he reseated the wire connections. Worked fine then until June when the same problem happened again. Same service tech was convinced that a new circuit board was needed, but when he installed it, it did not work. He wiggled some wires and it worked again for three weeks. Now that we are ten days beyond the 1-year warranty date, I cannot get Samsung to admit that this model is defective.
Service company tells me that we are not under warranty and are responsible for cost of the parts and labor. Piece of junk. Will not purchase a Samsung product again. However, from reading many online reviews, I would recommend that you consider two ways to deal with this problem.
Option #1: Purchase an inexpensive model with the plan being that the microwave is a disposable appliance that is to be tossed as soon as it inevitably breaks. Being wall-mounted, this is not a simple option.
Option #2: Purchase from a store that offers a 4-year warranty. That way, when the microwave breaks after 6 months, 11 months, and 13 months, you are fully covered. The problem with either approach is the inconvenience of losing a microwave oven.
Lucky for us, we still have a Whirlpool countertop model from 2002 that has worked faithfully. That has allowed us to wait 3-4 days for the service tech to arrive to fix the problem.

KitchenAid : KBHS179SSS Microwave Review

KitchenAid : KBHS179SSS Microwave
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Purchased in July 09, I was excited about some of the features of this microwave/convection oven and for the nice look of it above our matching regular oven. The microwave part does a good job heating evenly, popping popcorn, etc. I do not use a microwave for cooking (I believe it kills the nutrients in the food), so I love that this has a traditional convection cook setting. The microwave, for me, is primarily used for reheating the occasional leftovers, coffee, etc. I have used the 'crisp' feature several times and it is just ok. It takes a long time and is a little more hassle than just using the broiler or toaster since you have to preheat the crisping pan before you use the feature. You don't have to keep as close an eye on it as a broiler, though, since it shuts off after the programmed amount of time. The convection portion cooks nicely, although I have not used it as much as I'd like. I'm hoping to use it more to save energy by not having to heat the entire cavity of the regular oven. It's perfect for that small batch of cookies or side dish that cooks at a different temp than the rest of dinner.
Here are some of the drawbacks: the crisp element on the top of the microwave makes it much more difficult to clean if there were to be any splatters. Be sure to keep everything covered (sometimes difficult with kids around!). I was worried that the door opening forward would bother me, and it did take a few days - and one spilled cup of coffee - to get used to, but otherwise it has not bothered me. If you were shorter in stature or had weak arms (such as someone elderly that had bad shoulder joints or something), this might not be the best set up for you as pans do feel heavier and are more cumbersome coming out at shoulder height than they do from the regular oven. The other thing to keep in mind is that this requires 220 (like a regular oven), not a regular outlet. If you had a wall oven with a microwave above it, like we did, you will have to rewire.
Overall, I do like the look and the way it cooks, but I'm not sure if I'd spend the extra money and hassle or rewiring for this if I had to do it over again.

Whirlpool : WMH3205XVB 2.0 cu. ft. Over the Range Microwave - Black Review

Whirlpool : WMH3205XVB 2.0 cu. ft. Over the Range Microwave - Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We were asked to pick out appliances for our new home. I picked this one for three basic reasons. It was the same brand as the stove and fridge I picked out, was black, and went over the stove. I had no other criteria. Microwaves in the past, for us, have never been used for much more than reheating leftovers, microwave pancakes for our son in the morning and maybe a bag of popcorn every now and then.
Had I consciously decided to research more functionality in a microwave, this would have been it!! I cannot believe how awesome this microwave is.
Functions I've used:
* The "Dinner Plate" function is a thing to be awed. Load up a plate of leftovers, pop it in and hit ONE button (Dinner Plate). The microwave's internal sensor automatically adjusts the cook time to ensure the food is heated evenly throughout. WORD OF CAUTION: Do NOT stop the cycle to check the progress, then cancel and hit "Dinner plate" button again. For some reason it will get way too hot!
* The "Soften / Melt" function has been used numerous times already. You're able to select to soften different products (butter/ice cream/cream cheese). I've used it for both butter and ice cream. The butter selection truly softens your butter without having half soft and half melted. The ice cream selection is another thing that awed me. Our freezer was set too high, so our ice cream was like a rock. Put it in the microwave, selected the "Soften/Melt" button, hit "1" for soften, then "2" for ice cream, then key in the number of ounces. The consistency of the ice cream was perfect!!
* We just used the "Steam / Simmer" function last night to steam fresh asparagus for dinner. Again, we were thrilled with the outcome. We put 2 large bunches of fresh asparagus in a glass baking dish, drizzled with olive oil and seasoned with lemon juice, salt and pepper. Hit the "Steam" selection and steamed for about 10 minutes. Again, AMAZING!!
We've only been in our house just under two months and have already gotten so much enjoyment out of this microwave. I give it the highest recommendation and cannot wait to further investigate the other functions this oven has to offer.

I saw these on a program that was show-casing wedding gifts. I usually cook baked potatoes in the microwave and this product promised to cook a potato in 5 minutes. After about 1.5 minutes, the potato did start getting soft..however the prongs aren't long enough to continue to hold it up. I then put the feet on the potato, so that it was resting on it's side. It still would not hold. Potatoes were rolling all over my microwave. It still took 15-20 minutes to cook the potatoes!

Original Review (10/9/08):
Original Rating - 5
I use at least one of these bowls nearly every day. You get a handle to hold as well as a pour spout and a rubberized bottom to avoid sliding. I am so glad I bought this set.Edit (1/3/10):
New rating - 3
After having this set for a while now and using the bowls quite regularly, the large red bowl has somehow gotten a crack in the bottom (starting at a point in the center and going outward in a sort of firework pattern). I have not dropped my bowls and wash them either by hand or in the dishwasher (top drawer). I actually thought I might have messed up by washing them in the dishwasher, creating the crack (making it useless for anything with liquids), and came back to reread the description. It is listed as dishwasher-safe.
I figured I would edit my review so other customers can know my experience. Since no one else seems to have this problem, my case may just be a strange anomaly. Take from it what you will.

This handy set of three mixing bowls includes a red 3-quart, blue 2-quart, and green 1-1/2 quart bowl. The melamine mixing bowls are functional and attractive. Bright warm tones cheer as you mix brownie batter, scramble eggs, or any other mixing. The bowls are made of a durable melamine and come with non-slip bottoms, so they stay put on slippery counters. Built-in spouts and handles mean easy pouring. The set is top-rack dishwasher safe, but not microwave safe.

Exceptionlab Inc. 10-Ounce Ceramic Cup We are happy to serve you
Average Reviews:

I use this cup at work and it has delighted everyone who sees it. It passes itself off as a paper cup until you touch it, which is pretty fun, as far as "fun" from a coffee cup can go. It's usable, pleasant to the touch, and easy to clean. And hey, it's fun to spot the very same cup in its original paper format on so many of the various cop shows on television. I am probably not supposed to name these shows directly in a review, but I've found myself pointing to the screen. Me: "See. He has my cup. The very same cup!" Them: "Okay, would you shut up about your cup?" Me: "But it's exactly like my cup!" Them: "WE KNOW." I recommend this product.

Enjoy an eco-friendly, whimsical coffee cup in a fun retro design. The nostalgic Greek design of the to-go cup made famous in NYC in 1963 is now available in reusable ceramic. The details, including design, seam, and edge fold, are so good you'll think you're drinking out of the old style paper cup. The blue and white ceramic cup bears the message "We Are Happy To Serve You," and is microwave friendly and dishwasher safe. Certified lead free and up to standard on California's Proposition 65, the cup measures 3-3/4 inches high by 3-1/4 inches wide and holds 10 ounces. It makes a great novelty gift.
