Luminarc 8015495 9-Piece Stackable Glass Mixing Bowls Set Review

(More customer reviews)These bowls are great! They stack neatly, and are very durable yet lightweight! They are both ovenproof and microwaveable.
My only comment is that the five smaller bowls are maybe too much, too little. They make great mise en place setups, but really are too small for most other purposes.
I'd have liked the largest bowl to be the 11 1/2 and I could have given up a couple of the smaller bowls.
Of course, these comments are about personal preference.

Reduce Melaboo Batter Bowl, 3-Piece Set Review

(More customer reviews)These bowls were very cute upon arrival but much too small for the majority of things I bake (cookies, breads, etc). Additionally, the description leads one to believe these are bamboo-product bowls that are environmentally friendly but once I received them, I discovered they are nearly half melamine. With as many warnings out there about melamine as there are, I don't feel comfortable using melamine products for food. An additional note with the bowls is that they are not microwave safe. These bowls were not the ideal baking bowls I was expecting. Cute though!

Pyrex Prepware 1-Quart Rimmed Mixing Bowl, Clear Review

(More customer reviews)I know that my title for this review is a bit odd, but it is the truth! I fond that standard bowls are a little too small for cans of "Chunky" or "Healthy Sensations" soup. In standard bowl the soup comes within 1/2" of the top which makes transporting a your steamy hot soup a bit hazardous. This is not a problem with the Pyrex Prepware 1-Quart bowl!
Other features that we like-
- Completely microwave safe
- Scratch resistant
- Well-made and strudy
- Classic design
- Pyrex means that they offer some level of shock resistance
- Great value.
While these bowls may not be your choice for a nice get together they work very well for lunch!

(More customer reviews)I use my Paula Dean batter bowl almost daily. It is a cinch to pull out when mixing just about anything and the pour-spout side makes baking a joy. The size is larger than I expected, a definite plus. You could easily get several boxes of cake mix in with plenty of room to spare. This is a heavy and well-made piece, but the picture is somewhat misleading. The bowl has a VERY strong theme of green throughout- it is beautiful, but the picture does not really display it correctly. This is a great gift for the person who has "everything" and likes to cook. I am looking forward to collecting more pieces from Paula's line of cookwear.

Martha Stewart Collection 6-Piece Multi-Color Melamine Bowl Set Review

(More customer reviews)When I ordered these bowls they were 19.99 I see they have gone up as of 10/7/08 , even so they are a good investment. The bowls are a good weight ( not your Nana's mixing bowl set ) , the colors are really pretty . They say they are dishwasher safe but I wouldn't , I don't want to damage them. They are also not microwave safe.
I would also not use them for storage they have Melmac in them which is the same toxin causing the babies in China to be come ill , I would over time wonder about long term food storage and leeching of the toxin. That said for mixing they should be fine , its not like your eating the toxin , all plastics etc have toxins in them you just don't eat them.
The only thing I dislike is how much each bowl can hold is not marked on the bowl , it is however on the box. My husband cut it out and we scanned it into the computer for safe keeping.
All in all I think this was a worthy purchase.

(More customer reviews)These little silicone prep bowls are great. The insides are so smooth, and nothing sticks. Super-easy clean-up. They are ridged out the outside for a better grip. They are lightweight, and stack nicely, taking up very little space. The pour spouts make adding liquid to a mixing bowl easier. I also find that I am always grabbing one of these to hold my grapes, popcorn or tortilla chips. My eight-year-old grandaughter loves to spend a few hours at Gram's house, and she likes these funny squishy bowls that won't break. Perfect for her snacks. She has become a big fan of these squeeze bowls too. The shade of red isn't too bright. Just all-around nice for the price.

Anchor Hocking 3-Piece Mixing Bowl Set, Clear Review

(More customer reviews)When I recently replaced a set of old, chipped mixing bowls, I wanted to go with American-made, durable, solid glass. I chose an inexpensive 3-piece Pyrex set but ended up very frustrated with those sloped sides and all of the associated splattering I got whenever I used my hand-held electric mixer. Christmas baking was the last straw. I ordered this Anchor Hocking set for 2 reasons - 1) It's made in the U.S.A., and 2) the sides are much steeper than in the Pyrex sets. I am thrilled with my purchase and am using these bowls for everything now. The Pyrex set is headed for the second-hand store!
*** Helpful Hint July 09 *** - This set doesn't come with the larger 4 qt. bowl, but you might be able to find it at Big Lots for a mere $5. (I did.) Also, I kept my smallest Pyrex bowl (with the sloped sides) because I sometimes set it over another pan of water to double-boil/melt chocolate for recipes. The sloped sides do give it the shallowness needed for double-boiling, but for EVERYTHING ELSE I use these Anchor Hocking mixing bowls. Also, the cracker jars made by Anchor Hocking are fabulous for pantry storage of just about everything - heavyweight glass and made in the U.S.A.!!!

(More customer reviews)This is a great bowl. It was a replacement for my 52 year old yellow pyrex large mixing bowl that fell out of a drainer and broke on the countertop. I ordered the clear glass 4 quart bowl to replace it and have found the new one to be more than satisfactory. I like the clear glass better than the old opaque glass that was yellow on the outside and white on the inside. The size is just right. And best of all, I did not have to go shopping to replace the broken bowl. Thank you Amazon.com!!!

(More customer reviews)This is one of the best things I could have purchased. The bowl is easy to expand. I was worried that it would be difficult but I was pleasantly surprised. The bowl stays in the upright position very well. To collapse it, it is easier if you push inward on the colored rubber from the outer edge of the bowl.
It's easy to store in tiny places like a camper even though it is a large bowl and a very handy item to have on board.
I'm very pleased.
