JX2027SMSS 27%22 Deluxe Trim Kit for Models PEB2060 and JEB1860 %2D Stainless Steel

This is a FALSELY advertised item. Just like GE doesn't have to pay taxes, they think they can state "stainless steel" when the kit's cover is in fact made out of the cheapest plastic GE could find. Unless the previous kit, which was made from polished aluminum metal, this one is poorly made. What's more important, the kit is 3/4" lower than the previous, so if you are looking to replace anything, you may have to redo the cabinet window opening. If you don't mind staring at a fake blob of plastic that will for sure scratch in a day or two, go ahead. Otherwise, stay away and find another microwave with a better kit to install. Preferably of another brand.

Dacor Countertop Microwave Oven In Black Review

Dacor Countertop Microwave Oven In Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This appears to be Dacor model DMT2420. This model has had a well-documented problem for YEARS: the LCD touch-panel display will quit working. I bought two of these (for two kitchen areas in my house) and they BOTH failed with this exact same problem. Parts and repair are about 3/4 the cost of the original unit. If you research this model on the Internet you will find this problem is very common and has been ongoing for years. This product should NOT be on the market, and Dacor / Sharp (Sharp makes Dacors) should be investigated by consumer organizations and the Better Business Bureau for continuing to sell a product with a known defect. DO NOT BUY THIS MICROWAVE, it WILL fail on you.

It has all the functions a modern Microwave should have. It needs to be mounted very carefully, otherwise the vibrations of the metal housing create the most frightening noise your kitchen ever has experienced. My problem was the automatic fan which should prevent the oven from overheating: it run from the first second and never shut down. Ordered through Amazon, delivered by AJ Madison and manufactured by GE I first had to find out who is actually responsible for warranty and service. Once the GE service appointment was arranged, the technician came two hours too late, did not have insurance with him, did not find out what was wrong, had no spare parts with him and left without doin anything. I still have my microwave with the fan continuously running, consuming electrical power for nothing....

This was a great idea. I had been searching everywhere for hanging hooks or a rack that did not have to be attached to my new cabinets. I love having my kitchen tools hanging for easy access.

KitchenAid Architect Series II : KBMS1454SSS 24in Built-in Microwave Oven - Stai Review

KitchenAid Architect Series II : KBMS1454SSS 24in Built-in Microwave Oven - Stai
Average Reviews:

I own the Kitchenaid KBMR1454R. I assume this (the KBMR1454SSS) is a different version of the same model (SSS standing for stainless steel trim. I have a serious problem with my microwave, and I caution anyone considering this model to investigate the functioning of the cooling fan. If the interior of the oven gets overheated, the cooling fan comes on. It either shuts down operation in the middle of your cooking cycle, or remains on after your cycle is finished. When this happens the microwave is unusable for as much as five minutes until the interior cools and the fan goes off. It takes almost nothing to make this happen. The other day I defrosted 3 meatballs (small ones!) on low power for 3 minutes. The cooling fan came on and I had to wait 5 minutes before heating up the sauce to put them in. In the meantime, my kids were climbing the walls. If I make bacon, I have to make it in shifts, allowing the microwave to cool down in between each 4 slices. It's impossible to defrost a single-serving bowl of soup in one shot. It's clear to me that the engineers who designed this microwave never tried to use it to cook for a busy family. It's very expensive, relative to other ovens, but I splurged because I use a microwave so frequently. It was a huge waste of money, and I caution anyone who plans to use a microwave with any frequency against buying it.

I had a maytag over the range microwave that died after 4 years. I replaced it with the stainless steel kithenaid convection over the range microwave and I am definitely pleased. After reading review after review of other brands I decided to go with this model and I am glad I did. This microwave offers everything and then some. I probably won't use half of the features on here, but in the event I need them I have them! The convection is amazing, it literally cuts my cook time in half with out overcooking my food. Kitchenaid is reputable for producing quality products and I already own thier restaurant quality mixer. This microwave is highly recommended and the price I paid for it on Amazon blew the competitor's prices out of the water.

Maytag MMV1164WB 1.6 cu. ft. 1000 Watt Over-the-Range Microwave - Black Review

Maytag MMV1164WB 1.6 cu. ft. 1000 Watt Over-the-Range Microwave - Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Maytag sells this microwave as a replacement for model # MMV1153AA, so I bought it when my old microwave blew up, hoping I could just drop it in. However, the wall mounting bracket is completely different, so is the location of the screw holes on top that holds the microwave oven to the bottom of the kitchen cabinet. It is also 1 1/8 inch taller than the older model, so make sure you will have room for it! Also the power cable has to go through a hole in a different location than model MMV1153AA. None of the holes in your cabinet for model MMV1153AA will work with this model, you will need to drill new holes. Apart from that inconvencience it is a great microwave oven.

I bought my Sharp to replace my old microwave which was a "higher end" model, but found the Sharp to be superior not only in price but quality. The turntable was much more durable the cooking quality is excellent. Doesn't take up much space and the price is reasonable. Makes a great shower or housewarming gift and is just the right size for a college dorm or new apartment.

Whirlpool GMH5205XVS 2.0 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven - Stainless Steel
Average Reviews:

I got this microwave as a part of my upgraded, brand-new appliances in my new home one year ago. I really liked all the features, the way it cooked, and the sleek look. I used it for basic microwave tasks--reheating, popcorn, defrosting, etc...nothing crazy.
However, after using it for four months, the magnetron fried, rendering the microwave unusable. I went through the proper Whirlpool service channels, and four house calls and one month later, I had a new microwave (the same model). Three more months go by, same thing happens again--the inside of the microwave was completely burned and fried! This time, three house calls and a month later, they had replaced the magnetron and inverter inside the microwave. Just two months after that now, THE MICROWAVE IS DEAD AGAIN!!! MAGNETRON completely DESTROYED AGAIN! It has been such a pain, dealing with all the service visits to my home and the phone calls into Whirlpool.
I have had my electricity/outlets checked by 2 professionals--that is all functioning correctly.
DON'T BUY THIS MICROWAVE!! I'm sure there is one out there that will last longer than 3 months.

WMC1070XB Microwave Oven Review

WMC1070XB Microwave Oven
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought my Whirlpool WMC1070XB Microwave at Radio Lab. It was on sale for $99, marked down from the MSRP of $109. It replaced a 19-year-old 600 watt, 0.5 cu. ft. Emerson that had finally stopped heating evenly. My policy on food is: If I can't microwave it, I don't buy it! So, having a good-working microwave is very important to me.
I have been using it twice daily for about a week now and am very pleased. The size is 700 watts and 0.7 cu ft. capacity. The dimensions of the compact WC1070XB are 17 1/2" long X 12 1/2" wide X 10" high.
The control buttons are very sensitive to touch. The buttons are as follows: Popcorn, Potato, Pizza, Beverage, Frozen Entree, Dinner Plate, Fresh Vegetables, Cook, Power Level, Defrost, Add A Minute, #s 0-9, Clock, Timer, Start, and Cancel. The lever to open the door is on the lower right side below the control buttons. When you push it, the door only opens a couple of inches rather than swinging open all the way and then bouncing back if you don't stop it.
There are 10 different cooking levels and the manual offers recommendations for which level to use for which foods. The default setting is 10 if you just use cook, select the time, and push start. The oven has a child lockout feature which can be activated by pushing the cancel button for 3 seconds. This locks the oven and prevents children from playing with it.
The owner's manual is complete and easy to understand. So far this Whirlpool WMC1070XB is everything that can be hoped for in a small, compact, counterop microwave oven. As long as you don't have to cook anything really large, this is an excellent buy.

Emerson Microwave Oven Touch Control Black Review

Emerson Microwave Oven Touch Control Black

Our last microwave was Emerson. Travis wanted something new, so he purchased "Sharp R-216LS Compact Size 0.8 Cu-Foot Microwave, Stainless Steel" (as well as "Nordic Ware 11-Inch Microwave Plate Cover"). The Sharp microwave was broken when it arrived and we were like ok, no more sharp. Returned it (UPS picked up), got a full refund and I went for this one though it didn't really call out to me. But see, this is Emerson, the company that made our old microwave that lasted for about ****3 years**** (till the buttons stopped working), and another reason I decided to get this is that the design reminded me of the microwave they use at the Japanese deli (Diamobu Japanese Deli Grocery 129 East 47th Street New York, NY 10017-2026 (212) 755-7380) and cafe (Cafe Zaiya [...] 18 East 41st Street New York, NY 10017-6395 (212) 779-0600 and one also on the second floor of Kinokuniya Bookstore [...] 1073 Avenue of the Americas New York, NY 10018 (212) 869-1700 but I forget if they even let you warm up your own food coz they have crazy good free table service lol). Well, we actually like the looks of it (this picture here is just not very flattering, I think) and it works great too. hope this review helped. ;)

Sanyo EM-S5002W Mid-Size Microwave Oven

This microwave has a "add minute" feature--pressing the Start button while cooking adds a minute to cooking time. Convenient, yes, but the Start button is so sensitive that if I press it just a teensy bit too long, it turns my :30 beverage warm-up into a messy boilover 1:30 later. Don't take your eyes off the display (when you start) to be sure you don't inadvertently add another minute of cooking time.

KitchenAid : KBHS179SSS Microwave Review

KitchenAid : KBHS179SSS Microwave
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Purchased in July 09, I was excited about some of the features of this microwave/convection oven and for the nice look of it above our matching regular oven. The microwave part does a good job heating evenly, popping popcorn, etc. I do not use a microwave for cooking (I believe it kills the nutrients in the food), so I love that this has a traditional convection cook setting. The microwave, for me, is primarily used for reheating the occasional leftovers, coffee, etc. I have used the 'crisp' feature several times and it is just ok. It takes a long time and is a little more hassle than just using the broiler or toaster since you have to preheat the crisping pan before you use the feature. You don't have to keep as close an eye on it as a broiler, though, since it shuts off after the programmed amount of time. The convection portion cooks nicely, although I have not used it as much as I'd like. I'm hoping to use it more to save energy by not having to heat the entire cavity of the regular oven. It's perfect for that small batch of cookies or side dish that cooks at a different temp than the rest of dinner.
Here are some of the drawbacks: the crisp element on the top of the microwave makes it much more difficult to clean if there were to be any splatters. Be sure to keep everything covered (sometimes difficult with kids around!). I was worried that the door opening forward would bother me, and it did take a few days - and one spilled cup of coffee - to get used to, but otherwise it has not bothered me. If you were shorter in stature or had weak arms (such as someone elderly that had bad shoulder joints or something), this might not be the best set up for you as pans do feel heavier and are more cumbersome coming out at shoulder height than they do from the regular oven. The other thing to keep in mind is that this requires 220 (like a regular oven), not a regular outlet. If you had a wall oven with a microwave above it, like we did, you will have to rewire.
Overall, I do like the look and the way it cooks, but I'm not sure if I'd spend the extra money and hassle or rewiring for this if I had to do it over again.
