(More customer reviews)These bowls are great! They stack neatly, and are very durable yet lightweight! They are both ovenproof and microwaveable.
My only comment is that the five smaller bowls are maybe too much, too little. They make great mise en place setups, but really are too small for most other purposes.
I'd have liked the largest bowl to be the 11 1/2 and I could have given up a couple of the smaller bowls.
Of course, these comments are about personal preference.

Reduce Melaboo Batter Bowl, 3-Piece Set Review

(More customer reviews)These bowls were very cute upon arrival but much too small for the majority of things I bake (cookies, breads, etc). Additionally, the description leads one to believe these are bamboo-product bowls that are environmentally friendly but once I received them, I discovered they are nearly half melamine. With as many warnings out there about melamine as there are, I don't feel comfortable using melamine products for food. An additional note with the bowls is that they are not microwave safe. These bowls were not the ideal baking bowls I was expecting. Cute though!

(More customer reviews)These little silicone prep bowls are great. The insides are so smooth, and nothing sticks. Super-easy clean-up. They are ridged out the outside for a better grip. They are lightweight, and stack nicely, taking up very little space. The pour spouts make adding liquid to a mixing bowl easier. I also find that I am always grabbing one of these to hold my grapes, popcorn or tortilla chips. My eight-year-old grandaughter loves to spend a few hours at Gram's house, and she likes these funny squishy bowls that won't break. Perfect for her snacks. She has become a big fan of these squeeze bowls too. The shade of red isn't too bright. Just all-around nice for the price.

Anchor Hocking 3-Piece Mixing Bowl Set, Clear Review

(More customer reviews)When I recently replaced a set of old, chipped mixing bowls, I wanted to go with American-made, durable, solid glass. I chose an inexpensive 3-piece Pyrex set but ended up very frustrated with those sloped sides and all of the associated splattering I got whenever I used my hand-held electric mixer. Christmas baking was the last straw. I ordered this Anchor Hocking set for 2 reasons - 1) It's made in the U.S.A., and 2) the sides are much steeper than in the Pyrex sets. I am thrilled with my purchase and am using these bowls for everything now. The Pyrex set is headed for the second-hand store!
*** Helpful Hint July 09 *** - This set doesn't come with the larger 4 qt. bowl, but you might be able to find it at Big Lots for a mere $5. (I did.) Also, I kept my smallest Pyrex bowl (with the sloped sides) because I sometimes set it over another pan of water to double-boil/melt chocolate for recipes. The sloped sides do give it the shallowness needed for double-boiling, but for EVERYTHING ELSE I use these Anchor Hocking mixing bowls. Also, the cracker jars made by Anchor Hocking are fabulous for pantry storage of just about everything - heavyweight glass and made in the U.S.A.!!!

The melamine is not thin. These bowls looked awesome at a party I had. They all nestle within each other. There wasn't anything comparable and attractive at the local stores (Kohl's) that compared to these. Useful and attractive!

And it's got a rubber ring on the base to keep it from sliding around on the counter. It's a great bowl for pancake batter or biscuit dough or bread dough for that matter. Plus, it's very appealing to look at. And it seems to be unbreakable. I absolutely love it, and would recommend it to anyone who likes to work in the kitchen!

(More customer reviews)these were great for the first week i bought them. one of them broke in half, and one got a huge crack in it after the first month. one i dropped (but not far) and the other just got a huge crack in it somehow (i didn't drop it). SO now all i have is the huge bowl and the smallest bowl. By the way, i am not rough on my kitchen tools, so don't think i am huge clutz - basically, these bowls will probably break for you too.

(More customer reviews)If you need some wide, shallow mixing bowls, these are a nice choice. Their design is attractive and basic, and you know the benefits of Pyrex. Before buying, you should consider stainless steel instead, as it is lighter (these are a bit heavy) and won't explode into sharp bits if you drop it on your tile floor. Also, bear in mind that these bowls are shallow, so if you are a messy mixer (or use an electric mixer or a fast whisk), you may end up slopping ingredients out over the side.
Their wide shape and clear material lets them do double duty as informal serving bowls, which a true (high sided) mixing bowl doesn't do very well.
In short, these are nice to have around for certain uses, but choose high-sided stainless steel bowls as your main set.

They "nest" together for storage which is a bonus in my small kitchen. I also like the fact they are very stable when you are using them with a mixer. No rocking or tip over at all.
