(More customer reviews)I've sently purchased 3 boxes of the Loft china. I love it, it's a good classic design. But beware that the bigger plates might not fit your dishwasher or your cubords. It didn't fit our normal cuboards in our case. Luckly we could free up some space in our corner cabinet. But when you're having a dinner for a few people I'm sure you'd prefer if they fit in the dishwasher. So measure first, and maybe consider buying the pieces separatly so that you can choose a smaller since on the dinner plates.

(More customer reviews)Beautiful dishes...great shape...BUT they break incredibly easily. These are NOT microwave safe, regardless of what it says. The black areas of the plates, mugs heat up incredibly hot (we've had several people burned warming up items on these) Even dishwasher use has caused deep cracks in the plates...maybe the glaze isn't watertight. (?) The shape is great, BUT they chip and crack so easily just with moderate use. I have service for 12, and its the same thing with all of the sets. Very breakable. Okay if you want to hand wash and use occasional. Definitely Not for everyday use.

They are dishwasher safe and although they are not heavy, I haven't chipped them yet so I think they are strong.

(More customer reviews)I recently purchased this dinnerware and am very pleased with it and it's price. The plates are large and have a nice lip on the edge. Mugs are very comfortable to hold and thin walled enough to avoid leaks when you sip. The colors are subtle and sophisticated and the plates have a nice glaze on them. Even my husband likes the service. Best of all, the plates don't become hot when you heat food in the microwave which was my biggest dislike of our previous dishes.

We have a somewhat picky eater who would not eat a lot of vegetables, but on this plate even the vegetables look appealing enough for her to eat. I am going to buy more as birthday gifts. Would recommend this plate for anyone!
The only thing I was surprised by was the size of the plate. I didn't pay attention to the discription of the size when I was buying it and expected a bigger plate, but it's actually a desert-size plate. But it's perfect for a child and still a lot of space to decorate the face with food.

The plates heat up way too fast, and absorb most of the heat leaving the food not full heated. I'm going to have to get a small cheap set of something else for microwaving.

Sango Nova 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4 Review

(More customer reviews)I go a long way back with Sango Nova Brown dinnerware. I bought twelve placesettings when they first came out, and I love their quiet, almost contemplative look on the table. The color graduations give them character and depth. For a simple plate, they are beautiful.
BUT ...
About six months after I bought the placesettings, some of the plates came out of the dishwasher with a caramelized smattering of spots. At first I thought my dishwasher wasn't working properly, but then I started noticing the same strange gooey spots and streaks when I removed the dishes from the microwave. Not all plates (and none of the bowls) had this problem, so I was able to isolate the problem ones.
After a year of this, I called Sango to complain. I didn't expect anything - maybe a "Thanks - we'll look at the line." The customer service rep was shocked that I had this problem and actually sent me, free of charge, eight new placesettings. Talk about excellent and caring customer service! I threw out all the damaged plates and began anew. Two years later, the problems are just beginning to surface again, not in the dishwasher but in the microwave.
The mugs in this set are perfect for keeping coffee warm since they are deep, but don't pull one out of the microwave without a potholder, as the handles get hot (but don't carmelize).
I still love the way this set looks - and I've supplemented it with accessories from both this line and the differently colored ones. I just wish I could trust it in the microwave when reheating food.

(More customer reviews)'Head's Up' to Potential Purchasers of this product: I ordered the Moderno dinner plates, salad plates and cereal bowls (36 of each). The quality of the items is fine, but the way Target packaged them for shipping was so poorly done it was laughable, really. In a nutshell they sent three huge boxes and didn't place any materials in the boxes to protect the smaller boxes containing the glass from moving around and getting damaged during shipping. So, of course, many of the pieces arrived 'in pieces'. What were they thinking???? So, if you order this item and end up with the same brainless guy handling your shipment as I did, be prepared for receiving broken plates and bowls.

HotSmart Gourmet Plates - InstaHot 30 minute PLUS Review

(More customer reviews)While the first impression of this plate was good but after I washed it, they have hidden flaws. It seems there is an open seam all the way around the bottom of the plate where the heating element is. Well, guess what? Its not sealed so when you wash it, water gets trapped inside. If you don't shake it all out first, and this takes a while, it boils in the microwave and leaks out as some wierd smelling stuff. Its a design flaw, cause that seam should be watertight sealed. Both my plates did the same thing, so I am pretty sure this is not a defect, but a design flaw. They are ok I guess if you shake them out after removing them from the dishwasher, but setting them in a rack does not work. You must shake them out, and this takes a lot of time. I give this product only two stars because this is really a pain! Also it took me two minutes to get them hot instead of one minute, and they only heat the center inner circle of the plate and not the whole plate, so on the whole at best, about half the plate is heated. They are not like those mexican ceramic plates you eat out of at mexican cafes where the whole plate is hot and they to bring it to you with a glove. While being able to hold the plate by the edges is nice, in reality only about half the plate is heated, a smaller center section in the center. That's the dope on these plates guys. I guess you can live with it, but it might of made me look elsewhere for better hot plates.
Update:
After talking to the producers of these plates, I learned that they are working on new plates to be releashed soon I guess. The new plates should fix the problems of water getting inside the plates. From what I was told, the plates have two problems currently sometimes. One is if the seal breaks from overheating, water gets inside when you go to wash it. The second problem is a defect possibly when some plates are made which some of the components inside the plate are too large causing the plate to swell and break the seal. I was assured they are working on these problems and hope to come out with a much better plate soon. Right now, I can still use the plates if I seal the bottom with Gorilla glue, or shake it out well and let it dry. Possibly you could use an air compressor to blow the excess water out, since any excess water trapped inside the bottom of the plate will cause it to not heat probably. I was told I could return the plates, but I have decided to just work around the problems for now. However, I'm not sure the ceramic style mexican plates they heat up and bring to your table at the cafes would not be just as good or better since the whole plate is hot, and a big bigger, oblong. Also they stay hot for a long time. So for now, these plates are not perfect, wait and see when the new one come out.

I would not recommend heating with the lid. We ended up warping two beyond repair and made unusable. I contacted the seller and told them of the problem and they were quick with replacements. (More customer reviews)The Progressive Microwave Plates are awesome for traveling as well as in home microwave cooking and reheating. After over 10 years trying to find decent plastic plates I can use in the microwave that won't break as we travel in our RV, these things are the miracleware they promote themselves to be.
They will easily clean in the dishwasher (if we had one) and are microwave and freezer safe.
Unfortunately, they are easily cut by knives, even dinner knives, leaving scratches on their surface. And I've snapped one in half after pulling it out of the microwave with hot food on it. The weight of the food slid out of the center and the plate wasn't firm enough to take the flexing. These do flex, so they are good for all around dining, but don't expect it to carry a huge unbalanced load of food from some holiday feast.
They are simple and easy to clean, especially with the Rubbermaid recommended Dawn dish soap, which leaves the plates grease free and quickly cleaned. I haven't totally replaced my Corelle breakable non-breakable dishes for the non-moving times of our travels, but slowly these plastic microwave plates are being used more and more.
