Anchor Hocking 5-c. Glass Refrigerator Storage Container Review

(More customer reviews)I bought a 12 cup, two 8 cup, and 4 two cup Anchor Hocking glass storage containers. They would be terrific if the lids/containers were level. Instead, the lids teeter-totter on top of the containers, on some as much as 1/4". Some are better than others, but none of them fit right.
Its really not that difficult to manufacture items that are straight/level, and I resent being sold obviously defective items that are not advertised as such.
I will not purchase another Anchor Hocking product.

OOTS Deluxe Lunchbox with Containers, Blue Review

(More customer reviews)While the containers are a good size, the lids have indented finger grips, making it very difficult to fit much of anything in the little boxes (you cant fill them). The containers are flimsier than I'd hoped, and a sandwich wont fit in a container or in the box easily. Also, the rubber plastic coating is already peeling off the blue box.
That said, it's still a cute lunch box, and I do use it almost every day. BUT NOT FOR SOUP since the containers are not leak proof (I've tried).

(More customer reviews)I have recently started cooking extra meals and then freezing them. I have been looking for containers that were freezer and oven safe and came with an airtight lid. These are perfect. The lids were very easy to use, you just press down on the center and all the air comes out and its sealed. I bought the 11-cup size and am glad I didn't go smaller. It is pretty close to the size of an 8X8 inch pan, but deeper.

It's a easy to handle size (6 inch in diameter ?) and THICK yet not heavy to handle. The 2 quartz bowl is a great bonus. It's HUGE(13 inches in diameter ?). However, not as thick as the 28 ounce bowl.
Update: I love this set so much. I just bought 3 more sets !! Especially since I don't have to worry about whether there's any lead in the decorations that could leach out to food. These are made of glass so I didn't have to wonder the quality of clay being used. And the items are Made in USA.

All the containers I found either had snap on lids that his little 5-year old hands just couldn't open or they had giant screw tops that were too wide for his hands. This is perfect. And, when filled, it's a perfect sized snack of goldfish, pretzels, grapes, whatever your little one likes. I ended up buying a bunch just so I'll never run out.

(More customer reviews)I chose the Gray Color Dot lunch bag; it's compact and measures about 7"L x 5.5"H x 4.25"D. The contents of the lunch bag are: one 380 mL. (~ 1.5 cup) and two 160 mL.(each ~ 2/3 cup) borosilicate rectangular-shaped glass containers, three matching lids with silicone sealing rings, and a pair of collapsible chopsticks with its own case. The containers may seem small for others; but it's great for portion control. Do not buy this set if you want a big meal. Come lunchtime, I remove my bag from the frigde, take out the containers, remove the lids, place a paper napkin/towel over the glass (to prevent splatters), and microwave the food that I want to heat up. Great for small separate dishes (bento box style). Regular-sized sandwiches will not fit. The sealing rings are thicker than those in the Snapware containers that I own. In researching this product, I have read some reviewers say that the ring is difficult to clean. So far, I have no complaints regarding this issue. I separate all the parts when I come home from work and wash them as soon as I can. I love this set!

(More customer reviews)I had the same problem as another reviewer with discoloration from stuff like spaghetti-o's. It sounds a little strange, but try spraying a little PAM on a paper towel and rubbing it on the 'rubbery' surfaces - worked for me with my daughter's thermoses like this. I've also found that washing on the top rack of the dishwasher gets the stains (and the gross greasy residue from condensed chicken noodle soup) out very well. To keep things hotter longer, fill the thermos with the hottest tap water you can, put the lid on and leave it sit awhile, then dump out the water and fill with the hot food. It'll still be quite warm at lunch time. Hope that helps. :)

Cuisine Magic Rectangular Locking Glass Food Storage Containers Review

(More customer reviews)I ordered the 8 ounce glass containers for my kids lunch boxes, which came as a set of two. Unlike the previous reviewer, I detected no defects in the glass or in the snaps.
Before I placed them in my kids lunch boxes, I first tested them by placing water in them, turning them upside down and to my pleasant surprise, NO leaks.
What I wasn't happy about and why I give it only 3 stars is in the design of the lid, specifically the gasket. In washing the lid, I like to remove the gasket and clean separately. Reason being on account of the potential of bits of food/liquid to lodge between it and the plastic lid. In order to take the gasket out, requires a butter knife as the lip of the lid is only 5mm wide and too deep to get your fingers into.
After removing the gasket, I decided to try placing the lid back onto the container and guess what, it will not fit. So, if you ruin or lose the gasket-you may as well toss the lid out.
For me, this is more hassle than I think it's worth. However, I do think the glass is quality (like the glass found in Pyrex)and the lids too if you don't mind the fuss or concerned about ruining/losing the gasket. For those interested in the 8 ounce containers and curious about dimensions (approximates), they are as follows:
*Glass thickness: 5mm
*Depth: 1 3/8"
*Length: (interior): 4 5/16"
*Width (interior): 2 7/8"
*Height w/ lid on: 1 7/8"

I'm using them on their own (not as part of the Skip Hop Palette Plate set) and find that they are perfect for warming and mixing the smaller size portions (1-2 oz) I'm currently feeding my daughter.
It was also important to me that the bowls I use for her are BPA/phthalate free and these are.
*Update: I'm recently finding that these bowls are also perfect for toting around small snacks (and meals, too) for my daughter while we're out and about. The lids snap on tightly and have never leaked. I continue to love using these bowls.

Because I do not like to microwave in plastic, something glass and with lids was ideal. I have not had the problems with the lids seeming cheap or leaky at all and the bowls nest nicely so they take up very little space. I freeze food in cubes and then use these dishes to warm and serve or keep food fresh in the fridge. Ideal!
