Insulated Mug with Lid Review

(More customer reviews)The mug I purchased has a lid with a swivel slider that is supposed to seal it. This one allows almost as much liquid through when closed as it does when open. I have had other mugs in the past that did not leak.
The handle is also not ergonomic. It is too skinny to fit comfortably in my hand.

Aladdin 12oz. Heat & Go- Micro Lunch Bowl, Assorted Colors: Pink & Blue. Review

(More customer reviews)I've been using this for my kids' "hot lunch" for 2 years. The food does not come out "piping hot", but who wants to burn your kid's mouth? We put everying thing in this, from pizza cut up small and layered with parchment paper, to soup, to fried rice, to spaghetti to chicken nuggets and tater tots. The trick is that you need to know how to maximize your heat retention. First, fill the bowl with tap water and pop it into the microwave for 2-3 minutes (longer if you are zapping more than one bowl). As soon as it's done, put the lid on (must be straight) while it's still in the microwave (so you don't scald yourself) and screw shut. I let the hot water sit in the bowl while I fix the kids breakfast and get ready. About 15 minutes before we leave, I dump out the hot water, dry the bowl and lid (only if you want to keep something crisp like nuggets, egg rolls, etc.) and put the food in. I zap it for 2 minutes, toss/stir it and re-zap for 30 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on how cold the food was going in. As soon as it is done, the lid goes on (straight)immeidately, tightened down and put in the lunch box. Avoid storing cold items in the same box. My kids have 2-tiered insulated lunch boxes from Land's End to separate hot from cold.
For crispier foods like nuggets, I first heat them in the toaster oven. When the food is ready, I dry out the bowl and lid, pop the food in and zap it for 60-90 seconds. The lid must go on immnediately, or you will lose some heat.
We loathe our school's over-priced "hippy-dippy organic" healthy lunch vendor, so this is the perfect way around it. You save money by eating leftovers or food from home and your kids aren't throwing away their hot lunch behind your back. Give them what they like to eat and everyone is happy. The only drawback to this item that I've found is the lid. It takes a little practice to get it on straight the first time. If you screw it down off-kilter, it will leak both it's contents and heat. After 2 years, I think I've gotten my money's worth.

I Am Not a Plastic Cup Plastic Acrylic Tumbler ECO CUP on Ice with Straw Review

(More customer reviews)This is a great cup! It really doesn't sweat at all and is very sturdy. The lid screws on so it is almost leakproof (not completely because of the straw, of course). I like that the straw has a little bulge at the bottom, to keep it from coming completely through the lid and falling out. Overall, this cup is even better than I expected. I do wish it came in a smaller size than 16 oz, but that's not a big deal.
In case you're wondering, the cup is completely clear with no logo (one of those pictured appears to have the "eco cup" logo on it").

(More customer reviews)I really wanted a coffee mug that was attractive as well as useful. As far as being attractive, it gets an A+. I've even gotten several compliments on how "pretty" it is. As far as how it functions, it does a pretty good job but it has a few things to work on. First, it seems to be a bit "top heavy". It is really easy to knock over and I have several times, which brings me to my other point. It does leak a bit. Not much, but it is by no means, spill proof. So be careful. It is also not easy to clean. The lid has a turn-top which allows you to "close" and "open" it. However, the gadget that allows this cup to function like this does not come off all the way to clean so you really have to try to get in there with something small to get the "goop" cleaned out. I had to do this today with a toothpick. Overall, this mug is pretty good. It has it's issues, but it is attractive and does keep your hot beverage, hot for a good amount of time. It does stay relatively sealed, so it gets a pretty good rating on my chart despite the few flaws it has.

(More customer reviews)Save your money! I was very disappointed with this product. Unfortunately all the Stanley® and Thermos® products are chineese made so that does not factor in to the purchase, as heartbreaking as it is. The real problem with this product is that it just does not work as advertised. The concept is great - heat yourself a lunch before work and enjoy at lunch time. In reality it does not work. I have tried two of these in case I had a defective one, but no such thing. I heat soup or chilly scalding hot and seal. Less than three hours later it is barely luke warm. And this is in a heated environment, someone who works outside might as well pack it with ice, it would be just as warm.
I would give it ZERO STARS if that was an option.
Regardless of color, the poor thermal quality of this product is the same.
Put your money towards a Thermos Work Series®. It may be twice as much and you have to heat using a different container, but your meal will still be HOT at dinner time.

We fill the mugs with ice and water when we go to bed, and there is till some ice in the mugs when we wake up. The mugs are perfect sized for holding hot or cold drinks through out the day too. They are dishwasher safe with a snap on top and a nice big grip. These were one of our best purchases and would recommend them to anyone needing use of a mug of this type.
