Vivo Large Round Bento Box, Black, Red, Tan, Brown Review

Vivo Large Round Bento Box, Black, Red, Tan, Brown
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The setup for this item is great: four stacking (and interchangeable) bowls plus a lid...all held in place via the tension lever on the hinged handle. Does a good job of keeping most things contained and will handle liquids well, too, if kept relatively vertical.
Make note of the size of the bowls and the unit overall; I wasn't paying attention and wound up getting something a lot bigger than expected. It still works out...I have dry oatmeal in the bottom container for a few days worth of oatmeal breakfasts at work, then snacks of some sort (currently peanuts) in the second-to-last container. That leaves the top two for rice/couscous/bread/tortillas and whatever meat/veggie/etc. component goes on/in/with the prior bowl's contents.
One drawback is the nature of how it works; it is very sturdy and more or less sealed if you have all four bowls plus the lid on...but if you should take a bowl out (for cleaning or snacking or the like), there's no way to keep everything else together tightly. The structural straps and handle will stay at the four bowl 'height' and the tension latch won't work other than to loosely hang if you need to carry it all via the handle.
All told, though, the bowls are very strong...no problems in the microwave, no marking from being used in the dishwasher or with silverware, no staining from curry or tomato based soups or sauces.
Very, very useful, especially if you want to pack a week's worth of lunches or feed 4-6 people a day.

When I first got the package from Lucca, I was disappointed at the size as I had expected it to be bigger. When I opened it, I immediately fell in love with it. It is just so cute, the size, the froggy sketch and all. Although it is small, but the size is just right to store my rice and two dishes, one meat and a veg. It's helping me lose weight too because of the portion control! Not to mention the compliments I get from my friends for this cute little bento box.

EXCELLENT! Product arrived quickly and far exceeded expectations! I already own the smaller green version of this Bento box Large Lunch box Bento box 2 Tier SQ GRN !. I adore it and have used it repeatedly for gatherings with family and friends. I was excited to find it again in another color. When it arrived, I was thrilled to see it was a little bit larger! I will be able to fill this with so many goodies that I fear I may be the only one asked to bring food to any gathering now! One more note: these boxes are great for car travel, and are easy to clean. Very Eco-Friendly! Lucca, you have a wonderful product! Thank you!

Kotobuki 2-Tiered Bento Box, Black/Rabbit Textile Review

Kotobuki 2-Tiered Bento Box, Black/Rabbit Textile
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Positives. The appearance is elegant. The shiny blackness of the bento looks fancier than the plastic that it is. The understated, somewhat abstract design of the hare running in a field under the moon is nice and not too cute -- important for those of us not wishing to send the wrong message. It comes with a red elastic belt (not pictured) to keep the bento together. This is a stylish way to bring lunch to office or school, and the bento can be microwaved. The shape also matters. It is not a flat box, but with two tiers it is more vertical, which means it can fit int your bag vertically more easily, which means less chance of spillage. It is small and space-saving.
Negatives. (1) The inside lid for the top tier stains easily. (2) Some other bento at this price range comes with chopsticks (sometimes in a built-in compartment) and a bag. (3) It is really not the cheapest bento, and hardly the biggest bang for the buck.
Potential issues. (1) The bento may be a bit small for medium to large men/women. Most other adults who lead a sedentary life can get away by packing every cubic inch very tightly with "dense" food (i.e., no penne with all that space in the middle). The upside is eating sensible portions. (2) The top lid is not airtight, so don't expect to put soup in there. The bottom tier is designed for rice, hence it is not airtight. If your lunch is analogous to the Japanese formula in some way, you're fine. (3) I suspect the dishwasher might eventually scratch off the design.

Kotobuki 2-Tiered Bento Box, Black with Flower Blossoms and Snap Lid Review

Kotobuki 2-Tiered Bento Box, Black with Flower Blossoms and Snap Lid
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got this box yesterday and am VERY pleased with it. It's really cute and a good size for an adult. However, I wouldn't consider it a double-decker.
The description states: "Includes two stacked compartments stacked separated by fitted plastic lid--great for separating two different dishes"
The fitted lid sits on top of the main compartment, which comes with a removable separator. The inner lid does not have a tupperware-like seal, but when the box is clasped it's sealed pretty tight--haven't tested it with liquids yet though. the top "tier," which is really just the space between the inner and outer lids, contains the included chopsticks, and is really only deep to hold a few condiment packets. I suppose if you took into account the hollow of the outer lid, you might have about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch of depth to work with, but not really enough for another "dish" as it states in the description. Despite the fact that it isn't really what I expected, I'm crazy about it and would recommend this box. You may want to consider getting addition food separators, like muffin cups, for the main compartment.

To- Go Ware 2-Tier Stainless Lunch Box Review

To- Go Ware 2-Tier Stainless Lunch Box
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have had this for 6 months now, and have generally not been impressed for the following reasons:
1.I'm not sure why, but the sides of the top container have split, ( Yes, the metal has actually split ), so liquids will leek out. I think this is because the clips are so tight
2.The clips are really tight on the top lid, and the lid jams on and is really difficult to get off ( have to twist and pull a lot ). This is the same as the other 2 star review here mentioned
3.Because it is made of metal, if you put anything hot in it, the Tiffin gets really hot, and the food will cool down quickly, so if you want to put hot food in it, I would not recommend it
I use mine every day to get food from the work cafeteria, so it gets a lot of use. But because of the splitting I have had to throw it away, and get something else

No doubt the size is small, but it's perfect for my young son. I can fit a small sandwich (PB&J) in the larger container if I slice it in half and stack it. The compartments in the other container are perfect for carrot sticks, grapes, cheese and a small pickle. I also purchased the car egg mold which I think he'll like. I hope that the bottle will be suitable for milk if I include a small ice pack, since the case is insulated. The containers are sturdy, good-quality, and have very tight-fitting lids which seem unlikely to leak. I'm very pleased!

Kotobuki 2-Tiered Bento Box, Blk Textile/Dragonfly Review

Kotobuki 2-Tiered Bento Box, Blk Textile/Dragonfly
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I love this bento box. It holds a ton of food, and the elastic strap keeps the box closed to avoid spillage. The upper tier includes a plastic lid that makes it perfect for rice.
I thought the box was pretty in the picture, but it was a whole different story when I saw it in person. It's positively gorgeous! The black plastic is a perfect background for the firefly design. The fireflies are slightly raised and a sparkly gold color. The backdrop is a bit more orangey and lustrous as well. I was very impressed.
If you're looking for a traditional-style bento box, this is a great choice. Keep in mind that it's best for food that you can eat at room temperature, as the bottom tier does not seal. Very easy to clean and a great size to keep in your bag.

Kotobuki 2-Tiered Bento Box, Red/White Plum Review

Kotobuki 2-Tiered Bento Box, Red/White Plum
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This box holds 580 ml which makes it rather small for an adult appetite. I'm not sure of the brand - there wasn't anything on the box (in English) which gave me a clue. It is a deep red color and the design is very elegant. I think it is WAY over priced though - which is the main reason I gave it 3 stars. You would do better ordering the Kotobuki 2-Tiered Bento Box, Black/Red Cherry (Sakura) Blossom which is larger, more sturdy, and more economical.

Lock & Lock 3.6 Cup Rectangular Storage with Trays Review

Lock and Lock 3.6 Cup Rectangular Storage with Trays
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I use this and an Emsa E503392 Clip and Close Shallow Rectangle Storage Container with 3 Inserts to pack my lunches for work - I like the dividers to separate out foods that I don't want to mix or leak into other items in my lunch, and I love that the seal and clips mean the lid won't leak or come loose in my purse on my commute. The volume and size is just about perfect for an adult's meal. If you like to pack bento style lunches, or just want to pack a variety of foods in a single container, this is a great product.
In the context of packing lunches, the only drawback is that I would prefer a container that is not quite so deep and had more length and width to hold the same volume. You kind of have to 'stack' food up to fill the depth of the container. The layout of the Emsa container linked above is perfect; however the material of the Lock & Lock container trays/inserts seems more durable than the Emsa, holds up better in the microwave and resists stains a little better. So the two are about equivalent for my purposes and I use them interchangeably.
