(More customer reviews)The quality of the dishes in this Anchor Hocking set is reasonably close to the Pyrex set that I also have, but the carrier itself is much better in the Pyrex set. The Pyrex carrier is sturdier and has more insulation, and the Anchor Hocking carrier is already cracking a bit in places after being used only a couple of times.

(More customer reviews)After reading many articles in the news regarding dinnerware & mugs leeching lead into our food and beverages, and realizing every single one of my mugs was made in China I decided to switch to all glass mugs. These are simple, understated, and just perfect. Sure there is a seam that you can see if you're really looking for it, but knowing that my drinks are lead free makes up for that. They hold the perfect large cup of coffee and fit perfectly in my hand and are very comfortable to hold.
My only gripe is that because of the shape of the base when they are placed upside down in the dishwasher they collect a small pool of water that I have to carefully fling off of them before putting away, this water remains even after using the heated drying cycle in my dishwasher.

(More customer reviews)When I recently replaced a set of old, chipped mixing bowls, I wanted to go with American-made, durable, solid glass. I chose an inexpensive 3-piece Pyrex set but ended up very frustrated with those sloped sides and all of the associated splattering I got whenever I used my hand-held electric mixer. Christmas baking was the last straw. I ordered this Anchor Hocking set for 2 reasons - 1) It's made in the U.S.A., and 2) the sides are much steeper than in the Pyrex sets. I am thrilled with my purchase and am using these bowls for everything now. The Pyrex set is headed for the second-hand store!
*** Helpful Hint July 09 *** - This set doesn't come with the larger 4 qt. bowl, but you might be able to find it at Big Lots for a mere $5. (I did.) Also, I kept my smallest Pyrex bowl (with the sloped sides) because I sometimes set it over another pan of water to double-boil/melt chocolate for recipes. The sloped sides do give it the shallowness needed for double-boiling, but for EVERYTHING ELSE I use these Anchor Hocking mixing bowls. Also, the cracker jars made by Anchor Hocking are fabulous for pantry storage of just about everything - heavyweight glass and made in the U.S.A.!!!

The following is the complaint that I sent to Anchor Hocking regarding their product.
My husband bought me three of your glass pans for Christmas 2009 in Woodburn, Oregon at one of the factory stores in the outlet mall. I've been using Pyrex brand glass dishes previous to this. I've used the dishes a few times for different meals and brownies with no issues, until last night. I put chicken breasts into one of the Anchor Hocking glass pans, the rectangle one about 7"x10" (approx), and put it into the oven set at 375 degrees. After 8 minutes, there was a loud explosion and my husband and I went rushing back into the kitchen to discover that the glass pan had exploded inside the oven, destroying our dinner and damaging the inside of our oven. There are hundreds of pieces of glass all over, and even after doing my best to clean it all up, I'm still finding shards of glass today, making it dangerous to use the oven. I've looked around online and found the consumer affairs website where it looks like this is a problem that has happened to MANY MANY people using your bakeware. Since this is a known issue, I'd like to know what you plan on doing to make this right. I will be throwing out all of my other pans from your company since I now know that they are not safe. THEY'RE NOT SAFE! I can't believe that you're making a product that is actually DANGEROUS! It's dishes for crying out loud, and they're actually UNSAFE! Anchor Hocking 10-Piece TrueSeal Storage Set Review

(More customer reviews)These are the best food storage containers on the market. Typically, I did a lot of research. They are freezer safe, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe. The lids seal very, very well and storing one's food in glass just makes good sense. The lids can be lifted slightly for microwave and, of course, the glass doesn't stain with tomato based products, or curry or such.
The best surprise was that the lids have a clear circle in the center of them allowing light into the top of the container. At last! I can SEE perfectly what I have stored because the food shows up so well being lit from above as well as all around!
You will probably notice how BAD your other storage might have been. I replaced ALL of my other containers in a one day swoop and am pleased, pleased, pleased at the service and the look that these offer. I feel, well, so up-graded!!!!! These may be a small luxury you give yourself just to avoid all the hassles all of the other storage systems have! Go for it. I don't see how you could regret it!

Kitchen Supply 2 Quart Glass Batter Bowl With Lid Review

(More customer reviews)I've had this bowl and lid for Years, using it multiple times a week while raising my children, routinely using it in the microwave, and always running it through the dishwasher. After many years, the dishwasher has left its etching, but the bowl is rock solid and the measurement lines are still clearly visible. Even the plastic lid is still in good shape!
No toxic chemicals from glazes or plastics, inexpensive, a solid work horse, so it is just the sort of item our grandparents would have used all of their lives without thinking they needed something newer, better, or fancier.
