Described as a box of 500, weighing 13 pounds, and marked down 97%, this is in fact a bag of 25 at around retail price with the same shipping charge that would have applied to a 13 pound box. Deception? I think so. Probably just confusing enough to be legal, but I'm not even sure of that.

Bodum Canteen 6-Ounce (0.18-Liter) Double Wall Glass Thermal Tea Infuser Set Review

Bodum Canteen 6-Ounce (0.18-Liter) Double Wall Glass Thermal Tea Infuser Set
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
First off, this is beautiful. The glass is even more exquisite than it looks in the box. It's really a work of art. It ships well too, and is in a paper carton that's form fitting to the cup.
The idea is pretty nice - a cup with it's own filter for lose teas, that is reusable. I like reusable stuff. I dig recycling. So, I was down with this idea.
As per the picture, this is merely a glass without a handle. I'm fond of japanese and chinese cups which generally have no handles either, so I figured, no big deal here. Again, while you can see this in the picture, some people in my house did not and complained when I gave it to them to use. So, just throwing it out there. It is thermal, and did not get unpleasantly warm during use.
There was one flaw which was a downer for me. The vents on the insert for the filter as reviewers noted, indeed do let finer tea leaves seep into your tea. Again, having drunk it "old school", a few leaves is no bother to me. However... this prompted my examination of the insert, especially for the review.
This appears to be made out of very lightweight glass, like pyrex but far thinner. If you're used to nice hefty porecelain or stoneware, you'll be disappointed. It's almost feather-light - good for people with hand troubles though, I suppose.
At any rate, staring at the filter, I wondered to myself, how precisely did they cut those holes in the bottom? Rather than being formed, they were indeed incised into the bottom. Not generally a big deal, but there are minute cracks and marks around the opening. No, I don't think you'll get glass chips in your tea, but it seems...well, sloppy. Here's this elegant glass, and they incised holes and left cracks there, although minute...the craftsman in me sort of did a double take. Might just be my tea cup in particular, but I've done some crafting with molten glass, and I only ever see flaws like that from cutting it when it's too brittle. I sometimes wonder looking at it, if the filter was actually an afterthought, and it had a metal one instead.
It's really not a bad tea cup. It's cute, has a lid, and looks pretty. Keeps your tea warm, but it's not optimal overall. When most of us die hard tea fans already have other options for lose tea that are reusable, I can't say I'd go out of my way to buy anything like this for myself again, to be really honest with you. I might for a gift, buy one with some swank loose tea. Overall though, it's in practice not as practical as you might think.
Consider that one of the main reasons you get a thermal reusable cup for your tea or coffee is that you are moving around a lot, or even driving. This is glass - durable glass, but glass nonetheless. This won't be the thermal cup you yank for car trips.
As an aside, one thing it works *great* for are tinctures of herbs and making flavored oils. Since it can hold up to heat, I made a flavored garlic and rosemary infused oil for cooking. The lid is great for storing, and the strainer gets rid of large herb chunks perfectly. Perhaps Bodum should make a version for that too? It actually is sort of useful in lots of ways around the kitchen if you're a foodie. It's perfect to keep small amounts of gravy or sauce warm but off heat, as well, like a hollandaise. The cup is great for eating soup, too, and I found it more useful for that since my tea rarely sits long enough to cool dramatically before it's gone. So, don't just limit it to tea if you get this.
If you enjoy getting unique toys for your tea, then this won't be bad for the collection. It will stand out, and get nice comments when you have company. Chances are though if you're looking for practical specialty tea wares, there are better in general. It really depends on your own tea habits, and what you are looking for. I'd suggest using another filter with it though for fine loose teas, or a tea ball, rather than relying on the glass filter alone if tea leaves bug you.

Primula 12 oz Glass Tea Maker with Infuser Review

Primula 12 oz Glass Tea Maker with Infuser
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
...it is a 12 ounce 3-piece set: Lid, infuser, cup.
Out of the box, my first impression was looks and feels fragile, but so do most laboratory grade glass. I like the fact that it is made of this borosilicate glass. Resistant to thermal shock, hard to stain, and microwave friendly. The glass is thin, so more fragile than most glassware I have at home. Handle with care, and keep away from children. The glass can handle the high pressure spray of a dishwasher, but might not survive clashing against neighboring dishes if unsecured to a tray.
The infuser has 12 tiny slits at the bottom that act as filters when the infuser is lifted above the cup. Takes about 3 seconds. Safety tip, lift/lower the infuser slowly. Overflow may happen because not enough time is given for water to go through the slits when lifted/lowered in a hurry. After removing the infuser from the cup, it was easy to clean out the Jasmine tea leaves I used. I found a tiny piece stuck in one of the slits but a simple faucet rinse usually cleans it out. If not, I use the bristles of my toothbrush and press through the slits to clear out any debris.
To sum it up, I could not be happier with this product. My only downside is it makes me want all my glassware to be borosilicate glass.

This 25 oz Year of the Monkey Japanese Tetsubin (Cast Iron Teapot) is part of the Chinese Zodiac Series which is an exclusive Joyce Chen collection.Japanese artists create a new commemorative Tetsubin to celebrate and greet each Chinese New Year. The Chinese believe the animal ruling the year in which a person is born has a profound influence on personality, saying, "This is the animal that hides in your heart." These Japanese cast iron Tetsubin with their exquisite relief designs are admired and collected not only for their quiet delicacy but also for their ability to brew a perfect cup of tea. Each hand cast, cast iron teapot comes with a stainless steel mesh infuser and is finished with porcelain enamel on the interior.Safe for the stove top but beautiful enough to use as a decor piece this Green Year of the Monkey Tetsubin features a stylized monkey in relief. The cast iron keeps brewed tea extremely hot yet the interior porcelain enamel keeps the metal from interacting with the tea or imparting a metallic taste. Whether beginning or ending the day you'll find it easy to make your favorite beverage in one of these lovely and useful teapots. Joyce Chen's slogan "Eastern Cookware for the Western Kitchen," reflects her focus on providing high-quality, versatile tools and products that have Asian flair, but can be used in a western kitchen.Joyce Chen opened her first restaurant in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1958.The restaurant flourished, and in 1973 a larger Cambridge restaurant was opened. Chen also began writing Chinese cookbooks and in the 1970s began hosting a cooking show on public television. Teas Etc 12-Ounce Glass Brew Mug with Glass Brew Basket and Lid Review

Teas Etc 12-Ounce Glass Brew Mug with Glass Brew Basket and Lid
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have used mine for over a year and am so thrilled that I came back to Amazon to purchase two more. I like that only glass is touching my tea and it is not picking up any toxic or metallic tastes. I originally purchased in August 2009 along with Primula PTA-3512 Tea Maker with Infuser / Primula PTA-3512 Tea Maker with Infuser and much prefer Teas Etc 12-Ounce Glass Brew Mug with Glass Brew Basket and Lid / Teas Etc 12-Ounce Glass Brew Mug with Glass Brew Basket and Lid for several reasons. First, when you pour hot water into the glass infuser, the water flows readily through the slits in the bottom in the Teas, Etc mug but is slow in the Primula mug so that I have to stop pouring a couple of times and wait for the water to catch up flowing from the infuser into the mug and leveling off. Secondly, the Teas, Etc basket is bigger than the Primula infuser basket which is probably what causes the slowdown discussed in reason number 1. Thirdly, Once brewed you remove the lid, invert it to the counter or table, remove the infuser basket letting the sieved tea flow through to your mug and set the infuser basket on your inverted lid which you can use as a coaster. This is how both mugs function but let me tell you that the Primula glass gets much hotter than the Teas Etc so that you will want to use something to protect your hand from burning; I can comfortably hold the Teas Etc glass infuser basket and it feels soothing not at all burning. Fourth, the the slits are easier to clean on the Teas Etc than the Primula. The only thing I can see about the Primula that some might consider superior is that it is a little larger and maybe possibly thicker? Maybe not, the difference is negligible. The look of either adds to the tea enjoying experience; CHEERS!

Adagio Teas Glass Mug and Infuser Review

Adagio Teas Glass Mug and Infuser
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'll start off by saying that Adagio teas are truly fantastic. But I didn't enjoy this mug. I have a tea kettle in one room and my office desk is in another room, so I carry my teacup from room to room with boiling hot water in it several times a day. This teacup is so thin that the heat is immediately transferred to the handle, and it's far too hot to hold the non-handle part of the mug either. I dropped the lid once and it shattered into tiny pieces. So it doesn't meet my needs - I'll stick with ceramic mugs.
However, the infuser itself is fantastic. It's exactly what I need. The holes are small enough that even dust tea doesn't go through. I use it in another mug and it works perfectly. The stainless steel doesn't hold or transmit flavors, so I'm able to use it for white, green, oolong, and black.

GROSCHE KENT Infuser Teamug - Tea cup; 400 ml 13.5 fl. oz capacity, A Glass Teapot In a Cup Review

GROSCHE KENT Infuser Teamug - Tea cup; 400 ml 13.5 fl. oz capacity, A Glass Teapot In a Cup
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The GROSCHE KENT Infuser is a great idea on paper, but fails miserably as a product.
For starters, the pictures make the glass look very durable and thick. Unfortunately, this couldn't be farther from the truth. The glass is incredibly thin and feels like it can break easily. It's important to be careful while handling the mug and the infuser.
After only a few uses, the infuser developed a hairline crack from one of the straining holes where they cut the class. I never dropped or mishandled it, so I'm guessing it's due to the temperature changes of the water.
The infuser has 12 small cuts on the bottom that allows the water to strain through. Unfortunately, tea leaves can easily become clogged and stuck in these cuts and it's nearly impossible to clean them out due to the design.
I would not recommend this product.

Bodum New Kenya 34-Ounce Tea Press, Black Review

Bodum New Kenya 34-Ounce Tea Press, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased the Bodum New Kenya tea presses in both the small and the medium sized models. I really enjoy good quality loose tea, and the tea presses make it very convenient to brew this way (although the tea presses do also accommodate bagged tea, according to the instructions). For the small press I add about one and one half tablespoons of loose tea to the strainer, and about three tablespoons for the medium sized press. The amount you add, as always, will depend on your own preferences.
I would have given the New Kenya presses 5 stars, but for one feature that I believe has the potential for eventual failure, due to extended use. The plunger portion of the tea press is surrounded by a soft plastic gasket, to seal it closely to the basket when pressing the tea leaves. Because this gasket is made of such a soft material, I can see that it has the potential to wear out over time, much in the same way that other gaskets can become worn.
It doesn't appear that this gasket comes off or separates from the plunger, so I imagine that if it does wear out, the entire lid and plunger assembly will have to be replaced. Potentially, that could be costly, but with the reduced price that Amazon currently offers these models, it might be a moot point. The New Kenya models are the first Bodum tea presses I have purchased, so I do not know if all of the Bodum models have this same type of plunger assembly.
Perhaps I am being overly cautious, but I depend on the reviews of others many times when making purchases, so I want to be as honest as possible. (You can decide whether or not my concern is important to you!)
The most significant points are that this press is simple to use, allows you to control the strength of your brewed tea, and is also very easy to clean. Oh, yeah, and did I mention that it makes one heck of a great cup of tea!? Cheers!
JANUARY 13, 2011 UPDATE: I am happy to report that both gaskets on both pots are still working perfectly. The only thing that is keeping me from changing this review to 5 stars is that I do miss the lid on these tea pots. It would be nice to have one to cap off the pot after brewing and removing the plunger assembly.

I see others had shipping problems. My problem was not with the Amazon shipment. The cups were received fine. I got the cups out of the packaging and treated them with the utmost care. The first drink I put into it the interior wall on the bottom cracked. I contacted the manufacturer, no warranty. They responded not to let ice hit the bottom of the cup. These glasses are more museum piece than functional glassware.

This set of two 15-ounce glass mugs from Bodum brings a quiet sophistication to the breakfast table while offering prolonged insulation for hot and cold drinks alike. With their innovative double-walled design, the Bistro glassware line won a 2007 iF product design award. Artisans at Bodum craft the clear mugs by hand out of mouth-blown, heat-resistant borosilicate glass. As each mug is constructed individually, discrepancies in the thickness of glass, height, and weight may transpire from mug to mug. When holding iced tea, the mugs' double walls thwart the accumulation of condensation on the exterior, thus eliminating the need for coasters to protect surfaces from water damage. The exterior wall of each mug also stays cool to the touch while the interior steams with hot tea. While microwave- and dishwasher- safe, Bodum advises users load the mugs on the dishwasher's top shelf with extra wiggle room to avoid contact with other dishes. Take caution when filling with ice and extremely cold liquids as they may cause the mug interiors to crack. For ice, fill the mugs with the lukewarm-to-cool drink first, then insert ice so that the contents cool down gradually within the mugs. Metal spoons and utensils also may interact with the borosilicate glass and should not be used in the mugs. To retain a drink's heat for an even longer period of time, heat the mugs before adding the beverage. This set does not come with a manufacturer's warranty. Upon shipping, the mug set measures 5-2/5 by 3-9/10 by 5 inches and weighs 2 pounds.

Trudeau Silicone Tea Infuser & Cup Lid Set (Random Colors) Review

Trudeau Silicone Tea Infuser and Cup Lid Set (Random Colors)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
There's really no such thing as the perfect tea infuser or there wouldn't be so many new ones out there. This one is made of silicone, which has the advantage of its rubbery-feel flexibility. The tea goes into the body of the "berry" and is then put in the bottom of the mug. The "handle" is the leaf, and the "stem" is flexible. That means it hangs over the edge of the mug like a teabag, as opposed to many metal infusers where the handle is rigid and sticks up several inches out of the mug, making the whole thing a big unstable. There is a "slice of fruit" that serves as a lid to the mug while you're steeping the tea, and then as a place to put the infuser after it's done its job.
The only real complaint I have is that the "berry" isn't quite big enough, at least for some kinds of tea. It depends on how much tea you want in the infuser. If you're using a type that requires a full tablespoon, for instance, it's not going to work very well. On the other hand, the holes in the berry are small enough that there aren't a lot of extra tea leaves floating around in your mug.
I have yet to find the perfect infuser, but this is a nice one to use while I further the search.

Primula Flowering Tea Set with 40-Ounce Pot with Glass Lid Review

Primula Flowering Tea Set with 40-Ounce Pot with Glass Lid
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this set for my sister who loves tea even more than I do. I loved her set so much I went back and bought one for me! The set includes a lovely borosilicate tea pot which makes it versatile. You can use it in your microwave, but you probably won't. The heating and pouring of the water are essential elements of the ritual of tea making.
When you pour the hot water over the hand-tied tea balls, you will witness an enchanting display. The tea balls slowly open into delightful flowers. The pot and infuser are perfectly clear to show off your tea and allow you to easily witness the unfolding of your tea flower. I don't bother with the infuser because the tea balls shed very little during the brewing.
Best of all, the tea is delicious. The green tea flavor is robust (through 3 potential infusions) and the jasmine is very subtle. I have since tried other brands but Primula has struck the perfect balance between flavor and beauty. I strongly recommend this set to anyone who loves tea and the soothing ritual of brewing tea.
By the way, you should try not to boil the water you use for infusing green teas. The flavor will be negatively affected by boiling hot water. Try to catch the water just before it boils. Small bubbles will start to rise. That's the perfect time to remove the water from the heat and brew your tea.
Happy sipping!

Take a moment to enjoy some of life's simple pleasures and enjoy a unique tea time with the Primula Flowering Tea Set, which includes a 40-ounce clear glass tea pot and a canister of flowering teas containing 12 different green tea flowers with jasmine flavor. The durable tea pot holds 5 cups of liquid (40 ounces) and is made out of hand-blown borosilicate glass--the same glass used in laboratories. It is both strong and resistant to temperature extremes, and is also microwave and dishwasher safe. Simply add loose tea in the included infuser and pour through hot water. Removing the infuser is the ideal way to watch Primula's flowering teas in bloom and make tea.
Rather than use tea bags, Primula flowering teas are made by artisans in China and are comprised of hand sewn AA grade Green Tea with all natural flowers. The green tea is blended 5 times with jasmine to make for an aromatic scent. The flowers come in a sealed foil with a 2-1/2-year shelf life, and each flower can be used three times within a 24 hour period. Since the tea pot holds 5 cups of tea, each flower can make 15 cups. All of Primula Flowering Teas are made from the finest all natural tea leaves, but it is not certified organic, and it is inspected and certified by CIQ, a special Chinese governing agency that works with the approval of the FDA.

Bodum Young Press 8 Cup Coffee Maker Review

Bodum Young Press 8 Cup Coffee Maker
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I wanted a coffee press or a 'plunger,' as they call it in Australia, as a backup for our regular drip coffee maker. Living in a rural area, we tend to lose power several times each winter, and vowed not to chew the grinds in 'camp coffee' every time. Of all the models, I chose this one for it's attractive, whimsical design, and protection over the glass beaker. The body exterior is rubber and clear plastic, which protects the removable and replaceable glass vessel within. The handle is sturdy. The plastic top cover feels a bit flimsy, but seems fine, since it doesn't do any hard labor. The plunger itself works as well as any other I've used (belonging to others). A bonus that I didn't expect, is the extra insulation the outer skin provides, keeping the coffee hot for a lot longer than a naked glass pot.

Bodum Canteen Double-Wall Cooler/Beer Glasses, Set of 2 Review

Bodum Canteen Double-Wall Cooler/Beer Glasses, Set of 2
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In my never-ending need to own fancy things, I foolishly bought these glasses when they were first released, for even more than they cost now (although they are still expensive). Folks, please stick with plastic insulated glasses! I know that plastic is tacky, but some things are just more trouble than they are worth. You WILL BREAK these glasses, no matter how hard you try not to, so maybe its a good deal that Amazon is presently offering a deal on them.
In short: these glasses are easier to break than my Riedel Bordeaux glasses (in other words, FRAGILE); the glasses allow water to seep into the small hole on the bottom during hand washing, which is ugly (the tiny hole on the bottom of the glass prevents the glass from cracking due to rapid temperature changes); and dropping ice into the glasses or using too hot or cold a beverage will crack them. The only upside is they look nice for awhile (until water seeps in, or a hair line crack appears).
My first set was crushed in shipment. Amazon had not wrapped it in bubble wrap or anything else, and the Bodum box is severely lacking in built-in protection. Amazon DID ship new ones right away.
Save yourself the trouble of worrying about and dealing with these glasses! Pretty enough for awhile, you will find yourself so worried about ruining these expensive glasses that you will sit them on your shelves and simply stare at them. I really am sorry to say this... I don't give many negative reviews, and I generally like Bodum products.

Borosilicate glass is a strong heat-resistant glass traditionally used to make scientific lab glass.Stronger than traditional "soda-lime" glass, borosilicate can be used for everything from drinkware to cookware.Borosilicate glass substitutes boron oxide in place of the soda and lime used in everyday glassware. The boron oxide acts as the glue holding the silicate together.Due to small size of boron particles, the glass is held together tighter, resulting in a stronger, lighter glass.Borosilicate glass doesn't need to be as thick as traditional glass to be just as strong due to the bonding capability boron oxide.Borosilicate is simply a different type of glass that is resistant to temperature swings and scratching.Because the particles are held together so tightly, borosilicate glass is resistant to temperature swings,In addition to being dishwasher safe borosilicate will not become cloudy over time; you can rest assured that after 1,000 cycles, the glass will be as clear as the day you bought it.

Made of porcelain, very heavy. I believe 12oz is actually a tall at Starbucks but this cup definitely has the *outside* dimensions of a grande. The sides are slightly rounded so it takes away from the authenticity and the black lid should've been white. Be careful when washing because it gets very slippery. Lids locks tight, no leaks at all.
