(More customer reviews)I've been looking for a basic everyday set and purchased this one. Unfortunately it is as cheap as the price suggests. The sugar bowl is cute, but the creamer spout is malformed and off-center and the butter dish is difficult to use. While nice looking, because of its shape, it is very hard to grasp the lid and remove it without getting butter all over the inside of the butter dish.

(More customer reviews)I don't think I can really say much about these... but, they're very stylish looking, feel extremely sturdy, and the price is great. Very roomy bowls, and they fit quite a bit. I also clumsily managed to drop one on the floor, and it didn't break, but don't go trying that over and over for fun.
If you plan on picking up four of these, just search for "B00028QMFM" - it comes with four of these, but you also get a two-quart Corelle Winter Frost White bowl for free.
Also, for those who may be curious, these bowls are made in the USA.

Japanese 2 Pc Rice Bowl Set with Chopsticks Review

(More customer reviews)I own several sets of both the sushi dishes and the small bowls (also one large bowl that seems to be out of production) with this design. The craftmanship that went into making them is high. The textures and patterns in the glazes are very interesting and unique. While the design is the same on each piece they are done by hand, so each one is a little different. I've also noticed that the glaze color and pattern tends to vary a bit between ones I've ordered at different times, but not so much that it's noticeable unless you're looking for it.
I tend to be careful with them, since they're hard to find, but I've found that they stand up well to the dishwasher and microwave. Each plate or bowl has the exact same shape so they're easy to stack. I imagine if you tried hard enough you could chip them or scratch the glaze, but the large bowl that I use most often has held up beautifully over 6 years. I've broken 2 - one by dropping it on a hard floor and the other during shipping, but besides that no chips or scratches.

Carnival Salt and Pepper Shaker Set Review

(More customer reviews)These are very cool and look AWESOME on my kitchen table which is a very light maple. I have gotten countless compliments in the few weeks I've had them. My only complaints are that the salt one is NOT a grinder, just a shaker (can't be used for sea salt) and if you put table salt, it pours too fast for my taste hence "oversalting." I tried Kosher salt, but it was too slow... a bit of a goldilocks moment here... so I ended up doing a mix of kosher and table salt and was happy with the "flow." The pepper one IS a grinder though, and works well. I wish there were more available so I could get them as a gift for one guest who was really impressed by these... I'll keep checking back, I guess.

(More customer reviews)The 28 ounce bowl is perfect for Asian casual family dining. Great for soup noodles or rice. It's a easy to handle size (6 inch in diameter ?) and THICK yet not heavy to handle. The 2 quartz bowl is a great bonus. It's HUGE(13 inches in diameter ?). However, not as thick as the 28 ounce bowl.
Update: I love this set so much. I just bought 3 more sets !! Especially since I don't have to worry about whether there's any lead in the decorations that could leach out to food. These are made of glass so I didn't have to wonder the quality of clay being used. And the items are Made in USA.

(More customer reviews)We love cold cereal & hot oatmeal and we like BIG bowls of it, so that's not what we bought these fairly small bowls for. Instead :::
[1] For folks on special diets : think portion control (hmmm perhaps for cold cereal as well as restricted veggies & desserts, since so much cereal still contains a good deal of sugar &-or fat). ...
[2] For those who entertain a lot : think 'stand-up eating.' Small enough for guests to hold in one hand very easily; won't wobble & tip when guests set them down, either. Also very appealing (all those colors) filled with any hot or cold nibbles or finger-foods & scattered around the dining or living room. ...
[3] For those of you who cook & bake a lot, especially if you do so for a crowd : think 'prep bowls.' Sturdy but not heavy, and wonderfully steady with those flat bottoms. ...
You might consider getting these in as many colors as match your tableware, so you can actually use them for small cereal-salad-dessert-etc portions, for sauces, for party foods, and so on.
Then set aside at least one of each color to use as prep bowls, AND use the same color for the same thing all the time ( say, white always for sugar or onions , green always for sweet peppers or herbs , & so on and so forth according to whatever you most often cook or bake with ). We find this a really handy time saver : just reach for the bowl color when it's time for the ingredient. And there certainly are plenty of different colors available!
