(More customer reviews)Purchased this model due to the features (sensor cooking, favorites settings). Although it works as advertised I was expecting that a microwave in this price range would not have the following minor issues:
- Interior light stays on forever if door is left open. At times we have wanted to air it out. Why not have a delay before turning off the light, or allow me to disable it?
- No reasonable way to change interior light bulb if it burns out.
- Sometimes during heating on medium power (50%) the magnetometer or whatever it's called will cycle for just one or two seconds, instead of the normal 15 seconds or so. It's like the microwave just isn't programmed right or something.
I was hoping since it was a Frigidaire brand they would have put a little more thought into it. I might as well just have bought a cheaper model with an obviously-imported brand name, since I found out the Frigidaire is made in China anyways.

I've found they work best when the items are put in as dry as possible, so dry them thoroughly and dry off the condensed moisture that accumulates periodically. Strawberries keep for 2 to 3 weeks as fresh as on the day they were bought. Grapes and cherry tomatoes also keep well for 2 to 3 weeks. Lettuce also keeps much longer, as long as you can get it dried; if it isn't dry, it still turns mushy, but it takes longer than if it were just in a plastic bag. I also use Lock & Lock in the pantry for dried fruits and for crackers.

Acme Sterling Cherry Finish Kitchen Cart Review

(More customer reviews)I received this product yesterday in an battered and broken box. I carefully unpacked it, and examined the contents to find many of the pieces damaned. I was therefore unable to assemble it. The quality of the matteries looked decent enough, though the instructions leave something to be desired. Half the pieces are labeled, so I spent 30 minutes trying to identify pieces in order to attempt assembly.
A couple of nice things - it has a power outlet as part of the assembly, though the power outlet does not have a ground, making it useless for pretty much any microwave on the market, but useful for a toaster, a light, or other smaller items. I am very much looking to getting a replacement (with less damange) to try to get this assembled.
Update on 11/29/10 - I've had this cart for a couple months now, and wanted to give an update. The 2nd box arrived just as damaged as the first, but I was able to salvage enough pieces to assemble the unit, while hiding the damaged pieces enough to make it look decent. In short, packaging gets a big 0 stars, and that alone makes this product difficult to stomach. Shipping aside, the product really does deserve 2-3 stars. It has a nice design, but after a couple months, it seems to be tilting, so that the doors and drawer don't close right anymore. If it continues to have problems, I'll be building my own, as finding a decent microwave cart is very difficult.

(More customer reviews)This microwave looks good, but as a microwave that cannot generate microwave, it is useless.
I had used several microwave stoves before, some of them around $50, some around $100, but none of them stopped working within 3 yrs--except this expensive one. We called GE customer service, they told me the magnetron tube was broken, and they also told me this happens because, statistically, the failure rate of this magnetron tube is 3-4 percent. I don't need to be a magnetron-tube engineer to understand this rate. As a regular customer, I just know this failure rate is too high to be accepted.
If GE continues to make this kind of products, it will become another GM soon, and they can only depend on the government bailout to survive.

GE : JVM1540DNWW Microwave Review

(More customer reviews)Bought microwave 3.5 yrs ago. Recently the Microwave started reseting after running for 2 seconds. The first really annoying part is that you have to reset the time and date to get the microwave to function again (I hate this!!!) You cannot use until time and date are set.
Found out that RF(Radio Frequency) Mag tube inside of microwave is leaking and the RF is reseting the circuit board causing the microwave to reset.
The cost to repair is greater than the amount to buy another one. GE should make a better product.
Purchased the unit for around $200 so you do the math as to how much it cost per year to use. I will not buy another GE Microwave These things should last longer than a few years.

(More customer reviews)After ONE YEAR it's broken. We MAYBE use it one to two minutes per day. I've seen other reviews on Whirlpool as well and it seems the quality of their products is horrid. If you do buy PLEASE get whatever service plan is available to you as it is the one time you may actually be happy you did. Just an absolute piece of junk. Very crappy plastic, cheap sounding door, loud machine that doesn't last. Will NEVER buy Whirlpool again. There are reports all over the internet about how these break down after a year or two - do your homework and look at the customer reviews. We saw reports this was a good microwave - well it was a new model at the time. You could offer me one for free and I wouldn't take it - like the free couches you see on people's lawns - genuine JUNK. It's embarrassing that I can go to my mother's house and they're still using their microwave from 15 years ago w/o problem and here I am replacing mine after a year.

This bulb is the same length as the factory 40Watt bulb and fits just fine.
These bulbs are strong enough to be removed even if partially crusted by the microwave innards or plastic melt.
-1 star for lower light output. This borders on being useful.
-1 star due to short lifespan on these bulbs. They're not subjected to vibration or heat. My best guess is that they are designed to require frequent replacement. Lifespan is 1000 hours.

(More customer reviews)I had this expensive Microwave (JVM3670WF) for 5 years without and issue, this is a builtin 36" wide model. I loved this microwave until the other day with it stopped heating anything. Everything else worked, but it wouldn't heat food. I called GE Service, they told me it was $99 to come out and if it was the magnatron like we thought it was, that was covered under the 10 year warrantee. GE Service came to the door, one half hour later handed my wife a $265 invoice.$99 to stop by and say hi, $125 1/2 hour labor, $36 for Magnatron part kit and tax.
I am writing this so you all know that a $650 GE Microwave that has a 10 year magnatron warrantee dies after 5 years (1/2 its life) and you pay almost 1/2 the cost of new to fix a warranteed part after they tell you it's only $99 on the phone. Next time I will buy the inexpensive offshore models. This was just in time to replace 15 year old dishwasher, Fridge and Oven.. Won't be with the GE models I was looking at last weekend. Their loss in the long run.

I'm using them on their own (not as part of the Skip Hop Palette Plate set) and find that they are perfect for warming and mixing the smaller size portions (1-2 oz) I'm currently feeding my daughter.
It was also important to me that the bowls I use for her are BPA/phthalate free and these are.
*Update: I'm recently finding that these bowls are also perfect for toting around small snacks (and meals, too) for my daughter while we're out and about. The lids snap on tightly and have never leaked. I continue to love using these bowls.

We always start with putting virgin olive oil in soup/ceral bowl. Add whatever spices you like. Then roll potato in mixture. Potato comes out very crisp. Somewhat like Red Lobster's. I suggest you start with sea salt, pepper, crushed oregano, garlic salt, onion salt, chives, etc. We use whatever we have. We're never disappointed! We have 2 cookers and everyone wants to know where we got them.

(More customer reviews)We put in a totally new kitchen and chose this microwave to be installed above our range. Excited, we used every cooking feature and were so excited - at first. We noticed first the paint on the inside of the door was peeling and falling off in pieces on to the stove. Called and talked to Whirlpool; they had me call their licensed repairman in our area. We had to pay I believe it was $120 for him to come out and agree there is a problem but the company would not recognize there was a problem, saying they had never heard of this problem and it must have been something we had done or were doing. Checking the web I found many stories of people with the same problem but the company still insisted they had not heard of it. Now, today, my daughter was using the microwave, simply to reheat something, and it began to smoke and smell extremely strong like electrical burning. I am now afraid of this unit and will try, again, to find more information on this problem. We paid a lot of money for this unit and have now had it for 2 years. (I will find the exact date before I call Whirlpool). I do not expect them to agree to the problem again. I would not ever recommend this unit to anyone!!!
