(More customer reviews)Although you can program this microwave to heat at power levels 1 through 10 (10% to 100% power), all the power levels seem to heat at level 10! (high) A half pound of hamburg frozen solid as a brick should not be steaming, with the plate too hot to touch, after just 30 seconds on 30% power!
They didn't include the ability to program a cooking time, then a sitting time on the timer, such as when baking a potato 7 minutes, then letting it sit 5 mintues, which I do frequently. Nor can you program a delayed start by using the timer - the timer can only be used alone.
There is also a programming error, in that at some power levels but not all, when the time reaches zero seconds and the oven should shut off, it jumps back to 4 seconds, or 14 seconds, and counts down again, still cooking! (4 seconds rarely matter - but 14 seconds on high can take you from edible to rock hard!)
The display window, (clock, etc.) is not lit. In my small kitchen, there is no time of day or location from which it can be read, due to the glare of indirect light. This is also true at night, with the overhead light on; therefore, I can NEVER see the display unless I lean down within inches of it, and cup my hands around it to cut off room light!
I give it 2 stars instead of 1 because it does heat, but I'm having to learn to cook everything on high, and have already (after 1 month of ownership) had to throw away several things that got too hard & dry to eat. I can never leave anything to cook & go do something else, I have to stand there & watch, turn it, etc. It's too expensive to mail back. I suspect, starting out with these problems, it won't last long. I certainly won't buy a Sharp next time, even though that seems to be just about the only brand that's available in the smaller size I want. Let the buyer beware!
