(More customer reviews)I purchased this item at my local baby mega-store when they had just put them out on the sales floor, on a whim. I had just begun feeding my 4 month old baby at the time and was frustrated with how messy it was. The design of this product is brilliant, and what I realized after its first use is that the reason traditional spoons are so messy for feeding a baby is because the underside of a spoon gets as much food on it as the "bowl" side of the spoon, and a baby does not know to use their bottom lip to swipe that food so that it stays in their mouth. With this spoon/device, the orange part is flexible silicone that holds more than 3 fluid ounces of baby food. The clear top screws on once you fill the "handle" with the puree food. At the tip of the clear part is a small well shaped baby spoon that has a hole leading to the inside of the "handle". When you invert the spoon, the food settles down to the clear part of the handle, and with a little squeeze by the adult, the perfect amount of food comes out into the "bowl" of the spoon. NO FOOD ON THE BOTTOM OF THE SPOON!!! It has been almost 2 months now, and feeding time is a joy at my home for adults as well as our baby. He honestly eats better because of the easy delivery. Also, since you don't keep dipping a contaminated spoon back into a baby jar, whatever food does not get eaten during feeding time can easily be transferred to a storage container and used at the next feeding. I purchased another one of these spoons so that I can feed an entree and a side item at each feeding. Brilliant Product!!!
